Over two weekends (1st to 3rd April and 8th to 10th April), Chorus des Hauts-de-Seine invites audiences to come and enjoy a festival experience right in the heart of La Défense and, as in the past, this year’s event features both emerging and established artists who’ll be setting the Dôme and Magic Mirror stages alight.
Each event will highlight a particular trend in contemporary music so you’ll be able to see a whole range of acts, running the gamut from rap and rock to electro, including NEKFEU, DIONYSOS, FAKEAR, CARAVAN PALACE, FAADA FREDDY, OXMO PUCCINO, LOU DOILLON, WORAKLS BAND, JOACHIM PASTOR, IZÏA, JAIN, BIGFLO & OLI, IBEYI, THE PHARCYDE, DJ PONE, GENERAL ELEKTRIKS, ODEZENNE, GEORGIO, THYLACINE, ROBERT GLASPER EXPERIMENT, LA YEGROS, NAÏVE NEW BEATERS, A-WA, MAESTRO, S PRI NOIR, ACID ARAB, PAIN NOIR, GNUCCI, AUCAN, LOMEPAL, LITTLE SIMZ, TOKEN, STORMZY, COTTON CLAW, SAGE, etc.
During the week
- The “Labo Chorus” will be bringing the village to life by offering free concerts at the Magic Mirror at 12 and 1 p.m.
- The Prix Chorus, an annual prize which aims to spot talented newcomers, will be offering its selections after people finish work, from 6 to 8 p.m. on 6th and 7th April. The winner gets to perform during the evening of 9th April and will be added to the bill alongside Caravan Palace, Ibeyi, Acid Arab, A-Wa and Sage.
- There’s an event called "Little toy orchestra” with Pascal Ayerbe for younger festival-goers at 11 a.m. and 2.30 p.m. on Saturday 9th April and then at 11 a.m. on Sunday 10th April there’s Laurent Gachet’s “Nola Black Soul” with Zaf Zapha, Kate Combault, Ludovic Leleu and Philippe Anicaux. Also, don’t forget the kids’ Chorus held in the towns, with its selection of twenty family shows throughout the department.
- The department has a policy of educational outreach by means of fun events and is committed to providing a programme of artistic initiatives targeting audiences of all kinds. Festival-goers will be invited to take part in workshops, meetings and conferences, and to immerse themselves totally in the festival, thus extending the concert experience.
Then there’s also…
The Chorus festival also features fifty or so concerts, aimed at audiences of all kinds, including young people, which will take place in partner venues in the department, offering a range of different artists. For instance, this year you can enjoy the sounds of Les Innocents, Claire Diterzi, Kid Wise, Soom T, Mickey 3D, Youssoupha, Hindi Zahra, Yael Naim, Bachar Mar-Khalifé, Radio Elvis, Jeanne Added, Vianney, Zoufris Maracas, etc. There will also be artistic initiatives rounding off the programme and connecting established artists such as Raul Midon, Faada Freddy and Bachar Mar-Khalifé to the region.
